@swag8239 hows the service?
by (3k points)
@swag8239 we pay it every month so it's not like I'm late it's just very high. like snoop dog high

@kex1167 fantastic! I’m a typical millennial and am on my phone like 7 hours a day haha They run off AT&T towers! I’ve had them for about 10 years now  I can answer whatever questions about them you may have. Don’t buy their phones though, they are overpriced and low GB storage space. I buy unlocked AT&T phones and just put their SIM card in!

@kex1167 I just searched to see if they have a referral code if you’re interested, mine is: referral code SRRD-AD92. You get 5, 000 points I believe if you join which is a free months service so that’s cool. I joined the rewards program a while back when they started it and you get points for literally just paying your phone bill  I’m at the point now where I can cash in for a free month of service so that’s awesome. It’s the only company I’ve ever progressively seen get better. Years ago it was unlimited data but only the first 10gb were high speed and then they upped it to 15, then to 20 and now it’s up to 25gb high speed and then it slows down (literally so slow that you’ll just renew your service plan haha, I haven’t ran out in years since they updated this).

Taxes. I get taxed on the money I earn, the money that's left over that I spend, then the things I spend that money on. By the time I add up all my taxes, I'm amazed I have anything left.

Meh, I don't really hate paying any of them. The closest is internet, but it is pretty wonderful even if it costs me $50 a month. Balanced billing and automation help.

Without a doubt, my cell phone. I was able to negotiate a corporate phone into my contract at work starting next month so I get to cut it loose. After that, the only bill that I pay that isn’t providing me shelter or sustenance is my internet bill, but I’m okay paying that one.

Student loans for sure! The interest is a crime.
by (1.1k points)
@heber for sure! I refinanced a year ago and have a better interest rate. What are yours at now for interest?
by (7.7k points)
@swag8239 an average of 3. 25% however, look at how the interest rate is accruing.

Probably a tie between Student Loans and taxes. I don't think federal loans should have interest, and I think taxes should go to the people (healthcare, roads, infrastructure) more than corporate tax cuts. Why is FedEx not paying taxes? Are they somehow going to outsource delivery drivers?
by (4.6k points)
@adalard389 they already do in some cases. They have private delivery drivers. I also agree that student loans should be tax free.
by (1.7k points)
I'm saying the big argument for tax breaks for corporations is that they keep jobs here. There's no way for FedEx to outsource a delivery driver to India or something.
by (870 points)
@adalard389 I went on a FedEx tour recently and their fleet crew are all independent owner operators and the drivers are hired by those operators. Somewhere on the bottom corner of a FedEx truck, you’ll see the company name of the independent owner.

Student loans. The majority of the student loan debt we have was from my spouse. I was frustrated with mine but hers was 5 times as much. I know think the second date is when a couple should discuss debt. Once you fall in love it’s to late.

I'm very lucky as I have only one real bill and that is student loan. It comes out of my checking every month without me thinking about it so I guess I have no bills I hate paying.

Student loans! Mostly because I had more options than I was led to believe.
by (1.1k points)
@wraparound ^^ this! If only I knew now the options available like Clep tests, discounts and employers that pay for your education, etc.

My ATT internet bill because I've been fighting the company almost an entire year to get the tv portion removed as I cancelled and sent back equipment. They insist they don't have the internet only deal I was prised at said price point. I have a flier that specifically says it does. I just went to the apartment management to correct the issue. I'm probably owed $20+$300 by ATT. so super annoyed and let the apartment staff know. as they are continually pushing us to write positive reviews.

Car note. If I could go back, I’d purchase a car all cash.
by (7.7k points)
@sclerous LMM should do a podcast episode on the best ways to purchase or lease a vehicle. So many people get taken to the cleaners. Especially when they “trade in” a car they still owe money on. It’s sick what some auto lenders do. Used car dealer finance programs are to be avoided at all costs, so-to-speak.
by (6.6k points)
@heber yeah. I am glad I’m not in that situation. I do have family members who are struggling though.

I'm on a payment plan for some advanced mammogram and I have health insurance. I don't think I'll have it paid off by the time I need to have it done again this year. I will have better health insurance but it costs more.

Taxes and taxes. I say it twice because the government takes over 30% of my hard earned money on my income. And then on top of that they shamelessly collect sales tax, property tax, and car registration tax.

Electric cause it's never the same
by (1.7k points)
Does your electric company have a budget billing program? They'll take what you owed in the last 12 months and divide it into even payments every month
by (5.2k points)
@adalard389 I believe so yes just never looked into it
by (1.7k points)
It might help with planning. Mine fluctuates like crazy. The only caveat is some make you pay the difference at the end of the 12 months if you use more than you did last year.

Electric bill because it's out of my control how hot or cold the weather is outside and I feel like utilities have monopolized the area so there's no way to shop around it.
by (6.5k points)
In PA, we can choose our gas and electric suppliers. The gas company and electric companies still deliver the product, but you can choose the source. In my opinion, it has just made it way too confusing, analysis paralysis if you will. I just stuck with the default of the gas & electric company for simplicity. It didn't seem like switching would really be cheaper anyway.
