I'm just became eligible for a ThanksA 401k through my employer. I would love some help deciding what to set. I'm 27 and just started putting away 3. 5% of my income into a Betterment Roth IRA six months ago. ThanksA recommends their "Very Aggressive" strategy: 91% Equities & 9% Real Estate. I'm also considering their "Aggressive" strategy: 7% Guaranteed, 79% Equities, 9% Real Estate, & 5% Fixed Income. Thoughts? I'm a little lost here.

Is that the only offers they have? In the form of “strategies”? At your age I’m assuming you don’t intend to retire for the next 15 year at minimum so very aggressive is the most suitable for you. As for you risk tolerance due to emotions that’s a different story. If you can consistently contribute to your 401k and not let the ups and downs bother you then very aggressive is where you “should” be

From my understanding, yes. When selecting the strategy, though, it does show your investment codes and the percentage within it.

@arterio1 gotcha, well if you can’t select any security (stock/ETF/etc. ) individually I reiterate that the most aggressive one plays out the best for you over the long term. Good luck
