I have no clue how to care for my lawn and I can not afford a service. My two very active dogs have made my back yard into a mud pit. How do I get nice green grass this summer so my boys do not have to play in dirt?

I’m a big fan of Scott’s fertilizer. I will apply their crab grass blue bag this week. You want to apply right before the grass starts to green up. Then just follow up every 2 months with the next bag in their series. It’s super easy. Do not use the crab grass fertilizer if you need to reseed. In that case I would just use their turf builder.

Yes DO NOT use crab grass preventer AND seed. The seed wont take. There is one that will allow this combo, but its pricey. When you do seed, water, water, water!

You may want to consider making a dog run, a small fenced in area for doing their business.

We buy the fertilizer and grass seed from Tri County Stockdale on black rd. They have a very knowledgeable staff that will help you get the setup that you need. Great place to work with.
