My husband and myself did! Emediate Cure in Joliet. It’s a finger prick and results in about 15 min. My husband tested positive, I tested negative.

@barbarossa1 Anne negative for the virus or the antibody test? The antibody tests (especially the quick result ones) are not very accurate yet. I’m waiting until they figure them out a little more to do it.

@abell he tested negative for the virus. It is not true that if you got a flu shot you will test positive for the virus.

@barbarossa1 Anne Some people think of you got a flu shot, you may test positive for the antibodies, not the virus. But like I said, the antibody test is just not that reliable yet.

@abell I haven’t heard that about the antibody test, but I was seeing posts floating around stating that if you got a flu shot you would test positive for the virus. So much misinformation out there.

I actually heard, I don’t know if it’s true, the finger prick isn’t so accurate. I think only 65%

I got tested through Dr. Turk's office in Plainfield. It was a blood draw, which should be more accurate. I scheduled through her office, she did a phone "office visit", then the phlebotomist came to my house.

@meagher wow. What did test show?
by (1.7k points)
@meagher how much was that?

@selfreliance I just had the draw Thursday, so haven't received results yet, but I should any day. I should add that I don't think that we can truly rely on the accuracy of these tests, nor do I feel we should change our behavior based on the results. Even if the result was dependable, there is no evidence yet that we can't be reinfected or that we won't be an infectious carrier. I'm in healthcare and I just wanted to see what the results were.

@chinkapin475 they said that insurance has been covering the test and there is just a $50 out of pocket charge for the phlebotomist coming to your house. I asked them what the cost is in case my insurance denies it and they said it is $130 out of pocket (not including the $50).

I got the blood draw just a few days ago and got the results back the following day. I was negative. Kind of surprised because I thought maybe in February I had it so I guess not . Just a cold or other virus I guess.
