My Ring announces a doorbell press on all of my Alexa devices. How can I trim that list so it only announces on a subset of Dots?

Go into your Alexa app. Hit the hamburger. Hit Routines. Edit the routine that does the announcement. Change the routine from Announcement (which does to all alexa devices) to Alexa says and then choose the "from device". You will have to add the alexa says action for each individual device, which is a pain

There actually isn’t a routine for a doorbell press (I write Alexa skills on the side and am very familiar with routines)

Yeah you’d think there would be a simpler way by now. Except you need disable all your Echo devices notifications, then create a routine that announces the motion for each device you want. If you want Ring, you’ll need another routine for that too. ‍♂️

In a routine that handles the doorbell press, you can now select the devices that you want to send an announcement to.
