Anyone got a floodlight cam that seems to want to spend a lot of the time lit for no reason? Mine points into my garden with the activation zone only in my garden and walls. It goes through phases where it'll spend a lot of the time turning on and off yet when I activate live view and sit there watching it for ages, there's zero activity. I do have a sheet of tarp on the garden so I would expect it to turn on if the wind caught it but when I've been checking we've not even had a breeze and it's been switching itself on. Many times as soon as it switches itself off it's only a couple seconds until it comes back on again.

I have the same issue with mine. Sometimes I think it is because of spiderwebs that spiders seem to do at night.

Brand new only new - never any webs near it. The only thing I can think it can be is because using the night vision mode I can see streaks that are rain drops but not necessarily rain, just "misplaced drizzle" but I wonder if it's that that's activating it. I'm wondering this because of how it detects motion.

@request you would be surprised as to how many spiders build webs at night and have then gone by morning.

Maybe but I'm sat here watching it and nothing is appearing in the view. No spiders.

The camera and the lights are activated by 2 separate systems. So, if the lights are turning on, it doesn't mean you'll see the motion in the video that triggered them.

I have 4 and never see the lights turn on during the day. I take the common sense approach and schedule the lights to stay on when dark to deter crooks.

I had the same problem, mine would turn on and then off all the time and no activity going on outside, now it logged me off and I can't get it to work now it's saying check internet connection and I have WiFi on but it's not connecting to my floodlight camera now? I have called customer service and talked to numerous people about it and all they tell me is they will turn it over to the higher team and they will email me to resolve this issue but nothing yet, still waiting.

How far is your router from your floodlight cam and how many walls/floors are there between them? A signal going directly through a wall at the narrowest point will be a stronger signal than going through it diagonally. Not only that but any internal heat insulation like Celotex will drastically affect signal strength - many new builds have this, I've got it in mine and I've had to install a wifi repeater. I bought the AV600 from TP-Link.

@dogmatist I have the same problem with one of mine

I live in a very small house (typical of new builds) and "as the crow flies" my router isn't far from the floodlight cam yet I still need a wifi repeater.

I’m thinking of buying 2. this is a bit concerning. does the lights not have a sensitivity setting. so it can be adjusted for less of a trigger. similar to a standard motion light? Thanks

Lights have a separate sensitivity setting, and can be adjusted separate from the Motion sensitivity. They work independently. I had the same problem at first, and adjusted the light sensitivity down.

Now it is common for me to get a motion alert when a moving object just enters the outskirts of my set zone, and if it gets closer to the cam then the lights will turn on.

Here's kinda an example : raccoon triggered motion 1st, as motion detection is set higher than light sensitivity. Then light kicked on afterwards.
