I used them and eventually switched to eero. To be honest the xfi pods worked great but I wanted something that was not only able to work with Xfinity due to changing providers soon.

The xfi pods are Xfinity branded plume devices and create a mesh network. They are not traditional extenders and do not cut your bandwidth by 50%

I still have an extra one that I will sell you if you need and extra or just one.

I bought this wifi extender from Walmart and is very reliable and easy to set up! But i have no experience with comcast wifi extenders. I just wanted to give you another option

Or wire an access point. APs are more reliable.

My Ring Chime Pro extender works great. I called Ring to find out why my live/videos were black and they sent me one for free.

Don’t get the Comcast pods, go with your own mesh system like Amplifi.

Stay away from Orbi. There are sometimes issue with battery cams and live views. I would highly recommend Eero Mesh WiFi

@honorific Hunh I’ve had orbi for 3 years. Never an issue on my end.

@czarevitch I said sometimes people experience issues, other times they don’t. I have seen Several issues with ring battery cameras and Orbi. I do many installs.

My Orbi is great, I've had at least 3 years.

@honorific A couple adjustments in the settings of the Orbi interface usually clears up the connection issues with battery devices, but I definitely agree with you that if you're running battery then you might want to look at another option. I had some snags with my one battery device, but this group helped me get it sorted where I can connect every time now.

Yes agreed. I have read that does help.

@honorific well I guess if I encounter an error, now I’ll know why! Appreciate it!

@lemur I have installed many Mesh and Ring systems for clients. It’s my full time job. What you are saying is correct. However, out of the box the Eero as well as a few others are seamless. With Orbi, especially when using Battery Cams (which I don’t recommend anyway) there are some back end configurations that need to happen to avoid these “known issues” that most people don’t know or want to know how to do. Therefore, in my opinion and experience, I recommend the other plug and play systems .

@lemur for you and I it’s easy. Most people struggle just installing an app on their phones.

@lemur I agree although I prefer the Eero Pro

Whichever generic brand Costco has will work great.

I have them. Work a treat. You are talking about the pods right. I have one in the garage for the stick up cam and the MyQ garage door opener, one near the front door Ring pro doorbell usually is on that one and one in the kitchen the Alexa show is usually on that one. My gateway is upstairs in my office, I have 20 devices on my network. Tablets, Echos, Kindles, Ring doorbell and cam, mobile phone printer, Phillip's hue for the lights, and 2 laptops. My service is Extreme Blast Pro 500 Mbps. I have no problems, even outside.

Did you get the new Xfinity modem/mesh router with DOCSIS 3. 1? It's fantastic. I only use the Ring Alarm Extender in my garage to insure a good signal to floodlights, and everything I have is below 50RSSI
