This is hopefully an easy question. Is there a preferred way to connect a Ring 1? I have wifi and a Chime Pro. Is there any benefit to one over the other, given the same signal strength? **I looked Online and in this group and there's either nothing, or answers that are too vague. Thanks in advance.

What is your WiFi signal strength (RSSI) and upload speed, measured outside at the doorbell? RSSI is a negative number, desirable to be between -30 and -60. Upload speed needs to be more than 2 MBPS. Then plug your Chime Pro inside next to the doorbell. Measure same.

David, I get all of that. I'm asking, if everything is even, if there's a preference between the two.

@keesee Can't tell you without data, every situation is different. if you have very good WiFi, you don't need the Chime Pro except for the alert sound. If not, then a Chime Pro can help, although like most WiFi extenders, it will cut your transmission speeds in half.

I am asking from a pure hardware standpoint. I think that I have the answer I need. Tks.
