When 24x7 does come I don’t think it will be what people think if it is recording to the cloud. Maybe a enhanced version of Snapshot. As Snapshot is its only 640x360, perhaps a higher resolution more frequently as much as 1 frame per second. Just don’t think it will be full resolution at 15 FPS to the cloud and also not on battery cameras.

24/7 recording is too much bandwidth for $100 per year! Also let’s play find the clip, impractical!

@brentwood it would not be in clips but a continuous recording and agree there will be additional charge and per camera not unlimited. Only other practical method would be to a local NVR.

@daryldaryle a local NVR would put the recordings onsite, theft would mean lost recordings

@brentwood Yeah, and what are the chances of that happening. And you deserve to have it stolen if you leave connected some place obvious like right next to the modem. NVRs are very common especially for CCTV style 24/7 4K recordings still popular today. A 4-4K PoE Camera system and 2 Terabyte NVR about the size of a DishNetwork Hopper is 6-800. 00 for the total system. The downside is having to install the Cat5 cable and the GUI kind of sucks and the notification system and integration with other devices is not near as good as the Ring but the quality of video is superior. So it has it pluses and minus. Hoping that Ring can someday produce a hybrid system. NVR for local high quality and Cloud for safety. Don't know if such a system would be feasible or even practical but I like the idea of it.

@brentwood then they will throw a fit when the cost for storage triples!
