Yup. They aren't meant to be used as standard security cameras, assuming you're referring to the Ring doorbells. They're just for seeing who's at the door, for the most part. I use the Ring doorbell along with some Nest cameras.

They are “event based” cameras. But yes I wish you had the option to record a little longer. Like 2 minutes if applicable. Try setting the sensitivity higher maybe it will record more overall video ?
