We have 2 ring spotlight plug in cameras on our front of the house and our neighbor across the way says they are really bright and shine into their bedroom at night. Anyone deal with this and best way to dim them? I see that I can turn down the light level but it doesn’t seem to dim them much. I also turned the light timer from 15 minutes after motion is senses to 1 minute. What about a small cover to point the light down more? Also the lights are about 500’ from the neighbors house. I didn’t know they were THAT bright.

If they’re bitching about a SLC light from 500’, they’re just being an ass. It’s not that bright.

Adjust the angle of the lights. Also, toss some crabgrass on their lawn

15 minutes is a bit long. And you reduced the time to 1 minute. You can dim them down to it's lowest setting, which should still be good enough to illuminate your property. Also have you tried adjusting your motion zones? Perhaps bring it in closer so that it only activates when there motion on your property? (So as not to be triggered by a person walking on the street or a car) Not saying your neighbor is right, could just be a complainer. Just some suggestions to try and keep the peace. Also them having blackout curtains will help.

@hilel we live in a development in the woods on 2 acres, 15 mins from nearest city. There’s no motion outside and if there was I’d see a notification in the morning. So I’m not sure what they are seeing as the lights don’t turn on much.

Adjusting the timer from 15 minutes to 1-3 should suffice. Personally I’d say your a good neighbor for even trying to accommodate them.

It is easy for perfect strangers here to tell you to be rude to your neighbors. But remember good neighbors are also part of good home defense.

@caboose yeah and we just moved here and everyone seems super nice and friendly with families. I don’t want to piss them off. He even said he has cameras that point at the woods next to our property that could catch someone (but not pointed at out house) so we can all kind of help eachother out.

@breathless how far away is the neighbor? Check out (at night) if they reach their house.
