Problem with my floodlights resulting in a comment from my neighbor. Lights seem to be going on/off all night even though no motion is detected. Then I tried to turn off “lights on motion “ but the change won’t save. Customer support wasn’t particularly helpful because I don’t have easy access to the device due to its height to press the reset button- they eventually reset remotely. Anybody have any kind of similar issue?

Yes, for the first few hours after setting up the camera this happened to me. It finally stoped after putting all the motions to less with lights off

@cycad give it a few more hours :-)

@cycad if it's been up for two years without this issue then either you've never noticed, or something has changed around the camera causing more reflection from the IR LEDs or some other heat source.

Your motion setting for your lights are outside your motion setting for your camera. That's why you're not getting any videos. Just shorten your light range. That should help.

Mine does that too, reduce your IR sensitivity (separate from camera motion zones)

Mine is mounted at 6 feet high and this is where I have it set. It will pick up a deer at 30 ft and minimizes the random light activations. I'm pretty sure its picking up the reflection from the infrared LEDs on something around the flood light.

@carrero2325, yep, same here. Great example

@cycad this is a video of mine showing the difference between the Floodlight's camera based motion detection and the Floodlight's IR motion detection. If light sensitivity is too high you'll get the random activations without camera recordings.

Yes, since snapshot was turned on and on a spotlight cam. Ring are still trying to get to the bottom of it.

Do you have your flood light linked to any other ring devices? In other words, if your doorbell detects motion does it turn on your flood?

I schedule my floodlight cams all around the house to stay on at night, to deter thieves. My neighbors are aware of the recent inventions of blinds and curtains.
