I’m hoping someone might be able to help me before I contact Ring. I just recently installed the alarm system. All was going well until I tried connecting my last window sensor. The sensor is listed in my list of devices but has a “waiting to connect to a network” error. When I select the device it takes me to finish setup and then to the getting started “connect your device”. I already pulled the tab on the back and I’ve also tried taking out the battery and reinstalling it and pushed the little button inside but it is not connecting. Any suggestions? Thanks

Next step I’d try is to swap a battery from a known good device. Try and rule out bad battery. If that still doesn’t work then it sounds like bad sensor and need to contact ring.

@pentosan53231 perfect I actually thought about doing that but hadn’t yet. Hopefully just the battery but the other makes sense too. Thanks

@madelaine you’re welcome, I know when those batteries are low they do some strange stuff to the sensors.

Sometimes it does take a while to register through the system, i had a similar issue with a pir sensor this week but after 30 mins it appeared on the system ok

Hard reset. 1) remove the battery from the sensor. 2) press the small black reset button and keep held down. 3) while holding the reset button, reinsert the battery and keep the button held down until the sensor light cycles through. Now try to add the sensor to the alarm.

@commie thank you. I will definitely try that before I change the battery. It’s hard getting to that little button. Lol I did press it but only a quick press.

@madelaine yeah it's a challenge but that's the only way to do a hard reset. Good luck!

@commie 100% correct also if it still does not work make move it to right next to the base station and try again.
