Love mine. I have the smoke detector listener on mine. One day I was testing my smoke alarms, They called me within 30 seconds of the alarm going off, and my system was disarmed. Just confirmed to me it’s worth the fees which are minimal.

@janssen I pay for 1 device already so ill pay the extra for all devices. Definitely worth it

@shemikashemite8 You can’t really beat $10 a month or $100 a year for unlimited. I currently have 3 cameras, a door bell and the alarm system. And slowly adding Lol

@janssen does the 100 include all devices plus alarm? Or do you pay for alarm subscription separately?
by (960 points)
@shemikashemite8 the fee is for everything. Alarm and cameras. And you can keep adding. I keep adding as I go. Basically, once you have 3 or more devices, go with the $10/month or $100/yr, unlimited cameras etc. It is per address though. So if you have them all at your home, just $100. If you have a second home or business elsewhere that you put Ring in, that would be additional then. Hope I didn’t confuse you

In a nutshell, I have the Ring alarm system, 3 floodlight cams, a Ring 2 doorbell and an indoor cam and pay $100 total year for all and will add more.

I think its absolutely brilliant to be honest. Outside alarm is something I would like but to be honest soon as they enter the alarm inside should be enough to scare them off, and you can link the cameras to start recording as soon as they go off aswell

Love the ring alarm. I’m on the “don’t need an outside siren” bandwagon. I don’t foresee it helping in my area, but also see why some people want it.

@pentosan53231 I live down a quiet road with all oldies. As you cam imagine they're very nosey when an alarm goes off

I haven’t had an outside bell/siren since the 80’s at my parents house. Didn’t know any systems still had them

The alarm is great and you can add many other items as well, inside camera, freeze flood sensor. Great product

I love having the Ring alarm, it works well and the price is really good too, about 8 bucks a month. I also have a Ring Spotlight Cam in the front and another one in the back of my house and they work well too.

@shemikashemite8, great news, my friend. They sell a dome siren now for only $30. It looks like it’s made for indoors, but like most of thier products, it will likely work fine if not in direct weather conditions.

We recently switched from Alarm. com (Brinks) to Ring Alarm and love it! We are saving a ton of money and noticed no reduction in services. I know that Ring don’t offer an outdoor siren but *maybe* you could find a Z-Wave outdoor siren that would work. I have a Z-Wave indoor siren that works great.

It is a easy system to use and connect with all RING products. Wish they had glass breakage to place on glass doors. Can't beat the price to monitor. They stand behind their products.

@sakai, @archduchy1a listens for glass break and smoke alarm going off. It's called Guard and its turned on when you tell her you're leaving.

@archduchy1 I am talking about the device you put directly on an individual window not the listener device.

Outdoor sirens are not all that great anyway unless you have good neighbors that would actually come to your rescue they’re just gonna be nosey.

The siren is loud enough outside our house to be a deterrent.

I saw a Ring story about the alarm. Some woman got a notification that her alarm was triggered, and when the police got there, he had barracaded himself inside and put the hub in a sink of water upstairs. My challenge would have to be, had a siren been sounding on the outside of this womans house, would the intruder be so inclined to barracade himself inside and put the hub in water? i think not. Its a grave miscalculation on rings part! This is also why I dont want one

I have two Ring Dome sirens outside -- mounted to the underside ceilings of covered decks between rafters. They can't get wet. Works perfectly.
