Question

I have a wired spot cam. I am going to get the battery; however, i am curious about Internet access. If my Internet goes down, will I lose my recordings if motion occurs? I believe the answer is yes, but let me know what you think.

The clips are stored in the Ring Cloud. So if you lose internet they don't get stored while internet is down.

Another thing to consider some brands of cameras do have micro SD cards that record to the camera. However, if the camera is stolen you have lost the recording. Some systems are connected to a Digital Virtual Recorder. But then again if someone takes the DVR during a break-in you have lost the recording. In general, Ring is a very solid product. I now own 10 Ring cameras and 7 other cloud-based cameras. Most of the time I am either recording cats roaming the neighborhood or the occasional person checking to see if vehicles are unlocked at night.

@unaccompanied I also have a CCTV with a DVR, but it will take a thief a while to steal it as its well secured.

I have a ring2 at my front door that is having a connection Issue (installed months back )? I purchase 3 cams and 3 solar (over a month ago ) and thinking about making a return because issues I can do without , did so many things to reset and with no luck. I think this happened when I shut down my Cell Phone ?

From what I understand, you want to get a power backup for your modem/router and that will keep the cams online and connected.
