I just bought two Floodlight Cams and one Floodlight Wired for my backyard, I have a few neighbors fairly close and now I’m worried the floodlights may be too bright and can’t be dimmed. It’s going to cost quite a bit to get these three installed since I’ll need new wiring and junction boxes installed by an electrician. Should I return these and get different floodlights that are dimmable and also “smart lights”? Am I going to regret getting these Ring lights installed?

So I’ve had bad luck with other solar powered lights, they fade and loose brightness and don’t hold a charge. I wanted the wired camera lights so they never die or have to be recharged. Also I found out the battery powered Ring cameras are limited in recording length but the wired cameras are less limited.

Don’t do battery! You can adjust where the light shines easily on the FLC and FL wired. I own 3 FLC & 2 FL wired and they work great.

@atherosclerosis728 yes, I know. I was responding to his post about whether he would regret them. He would regret getting battery.

@atherosclerosis728 someone above mentioned battery lights, hence why I said it. There are actually battery smart floodlights though. FLC comes in hardwire only, smart floodlights come in hardwire and battery.

@atherosclerosis728 I have one battery cam running on solar and it’s only to help trigger the doorbell early. Every other cam is hardwired. only way to go, IMO.

The floodlight cam lights are easily adjusted. I recommend waiting until night to aim them so you can see where the light shines. Luckily my floodlights are near the windows on the second floor, so I was able to adjust through the window.

My floodlights stay on all night. My neighbors all know about the recent inventions of curtains and blinds.

You can turn off sections so that motion to the sides do not trigger the lights.
