Door sensors: Why would a sensor inexplicably drop from my list of devices? 2 did it. One came back when I reinserted the battery. The other hasn’t come back.

I had a defective sensor that was eating up the batteries. I also noticed that there was no graceful warning that the battery was low. I just lost connectivity. Replaced battery and battery was exhausted within 60 days. Again another drop. Ring replaced the sensor and all is now well. Still bothers me that fact that there was no graceful low battery warning message. Those CR 123 batteries are not cheap and always in stock at Walmart. Best price I have found is at Menards.

How far are they from the Alarm Base Station? I had one the dropped and I added another Range Extender and it solved the issue.

To see if it is out of range you can unplug your base station and temporarily move it closer to the sensor. If that works then maybe you need to relocate your range extender. If that don’t work maybe remove the sensor and try to reconnected it again.

Try calling support . they are amazing. If you pay for monitoring the equipment is covered . they should send you another sensor if it is indeed bad.

I had one drop off too - not happy because it did not notify me. Called support and they pushed a software update to all of my sensors. ‍♂️
