Question

What's the difference between the standard Ring app vs the Rapid Ring app? Do you need to have both installed to make either work? Does it make any difference in view connection speed on my Show? On my phone? I dont see how a different app in my phone would have any effect for my Show.

Rapid ring app opens live view much quicker than standard app I have both on my phone and use both but answer using rapid app

@colbycolbye All you can do with the Rapid Ring app is live view. You cannot view past recordings, set detection zones, check battery (if applicable). My guess is the Rapid app having none of the other stuff is what makes it so much faster for live view. Live view on the Echo Show is via the Ring skill and neither app on your phone will effect that.

This is the first page I always see when I open the Rapid Ring. Can u bypass and go straight to the live view?

@colbycolbye you have to log in but when it’s loaded then it will allow you to view your cameras quickly - keep both apps as rapid app just lets you view you need the main app to change settings

Rapid Ring is only for people experiencing slow response in viewing live video with the regular Ring app. It will not affect your echo show in any way. You do not need both. I do not use the Rapid Ring app at all since the regular ring app works fine for me.

These functions are not the same. Rapid Ring is a separate function allowing you a quick view, that's it.
