Ok experts!  My Show 5 is like a beacon at night in my bedroom.Ok experts! My Show 5 is like a beacon at night in my bedroom. I used to say "Alexa, screen off". Now she won't respond to that direction. My Show 10 willingly blackened. Any suggestions before I have to banish her to the Living Room?

Should be a sleep or night time mode on device settings.

@maugre2662 Hi Matt. Thanks. I did look but found no option under the settings.

On the device itself (not the app). go to settings > do not disturb > apply your preferred settings.

I had this same issue. Amazon had me send it to them for repair. It’s worked fine ever since but I think it’s a software problem. Chat with their support to see what options they give you.

@fortna Thank you for the response. I followed Megan's suggestion to repower the unit and it worked.

Agree. Check for updates. Also do a power restart. Mine works most of the time but occasionally I have to give her a jolt of fresh power. Lol Tbh, Amazon really should have screen off options in the settings.

@kneel Thank you. Did an update but didn't fix, but the power disconnect and reconnect did the trick. A little kick in the pants was what she needed. Thank you.

My echo show 5 dims its screen automatically when I shut the lights off, I don’t have to say anything or put it in DND mode
