Hi folks, what type of ethernet cable would i require for the Elite stick up camera please? oh and could i use the ethernet port on the back of my BT mesh disc as opposed to wifi and would that be enough to power it too, a bit confusing. ps, its down to £139 ;)

@infract yeah, but you can use that anywhere. You dont have the poe actually outside though. Its normally close to the plug socket. From there you just run a single ethernet cable to where you have the camera

This works a little differnet as I have a poe switch. But from the switch to the poe injector. Then from the injector to the camera. This camera is a underwater camera that I am playing with today. But they are all the same principle

You can use any ethernet cable, but buy the best you can. Cat 6 or 7 are cheap these days. Regarding powering the device. Its POE and the mesh disc does not give POE. So you will either need a POE switch or a POE injector which plugs between the camera and the disc

Cat5 at a minimum but could also use Cat5e or 6. Elite includes a PoE injector for power. If planing on getting 2 or more Elite now or later get a 5 or 8 Port PoE switch.
