Dude is better than most of the conjecture spewed in the SEO world daily. He is one of the only that applies the scientific method (as much as it can be) to SEO. You won’t find much better data. “I changed my meta description and now I’m ranking higher, so meta description must be a ranking factor! ” - No, Karen, that’s not how it works.

Decent info, but the dude is too full of his self to admit that most of his studies have flaws. There really isn't a "single variable" test that can be performed when Google's algorithm is looking at 100s of things.

Josh’s testing methods are bs. He doesn’t really understand any fundamental concepts of statistics. I find it rather sad for someone who is suppose to have a PHD. As a person he is worse than his testing methods. He has interrupted speakers during their presentations and lacks any consideration or respect. He’s about the real life equivalent of a dumpster bin.

@supranational875 nope it is objective

@wende2 not incompatible. Amazes me how people associate being rude with being honest or objective, as if you had to be one or the other. There are different ways to express the same thing.
by (160 points)
@cashew it is rude you are right. I got my own bad experience with Josh which let me think that the same way. It is not hate or anything just pure disappointment and if he tries to be a public figure He has to go through it if He did some Bad things

I've learnt a lot from Josh and others. He does make it sound way harder and more complicated than it actually is at the moment, but if you can work out what he is talking about, so far I've not really seen many people successfully disprove what he is saying. I'm not in his course and have not been in it, so I can't say anything about that. I would enjoy his content a lot more if it was less about drama and politics which I've got no interest or time for. Ultimately you need to take what you can from a range of good SEO's who are testing and implementing, test things for yourself and develop your own strategies etc. As long as you learn from people who use data and tests, as opposed to guessing and opinions, you will do better than most SEOs.

This guy Josh is a dishonest scam artist. I joined his group at something like $300/month because I was curious about his SEO experiments. One day, I found myself locked out of the site. I contacted him and he wouldn't let me in. I hardly even visited the forum in the 5 months or so I was a member and now I was locked out. I said to him, either let me in or refund this month's payment. He refused to refund my payment or let me in. I filed a paypal dispute and he tried to dispute that, but I got my money back. He's a crook and a charlatan.

He wouldn't say. It was the strangest thing ever. I never even talked to anyone on there. I just browsed the info.

I was part of his group for a while, like everyone else selling SEO information for a living he puts a unique spin on exaggerated tactics and sells it like its a silver bullet. If you hate on him for that then you're hating on 99% of SEO course sellers. I think he doesn't offer more or less value than your other SEO gurus. Also, I do not understand people saying he makes it more complicated then it is, this is the google algorithm, I don't think many things are more complicated.
