Hello I have a question, is it hard to do SEO on a medical website that has a Godaddy website? Are Godaddy websites hard to rank?

Also for blogging it is more easy to do with WP. as you are doing medical field i would order loads of unique content. I once ranked a personal injury liability lawyer with hundreds of longtails as i was unable to rank easily on the main terms nationwide (what they wanted)

Also a free business. site is also good to add, just create it in GMB; it will eventually rank. I never added any links to any of them for the ones i used as an extra website, also never added it to gmb as website. In recent google update in november it started popping up. For some of my lazy lead gen works (that did use GMB as a main website) i have used to build links and they do rank as well, actually easier

@darien Ummmn I thought using that free business builder site would harm your rankings on your own website.

@darien I truly appreciate your help.

@darien I didn't know this was really relevant. I always ignored it.

No, they are complete garbage with zero speed and performance. Be like taking aVW Bug to a Nascar race if the medical field is competitive. Then again I made one rank for "Santa Ana cell repair" and similar keywords a decade ago when I just didn't know better.

@touchback So would the best advice for them is to be honest and tell them to change the site over to WordPress or give it a try?

@chew446 WordPress

Yes I would be honest with them and upfront it gains more leverage that you’re looking out for their best situation. I agree a lot of these prefab builders are just very slow and not good for search engine optimization value for quick plug I would go to WordPress.

I would propose a new website. That website builder crap i would never be able to rank. Tell him if he wants to be professional and easily beat his competition (they all wanna destroy their direct competition) he needs to get at least something else like WP. I would go to themeforest and look for a good theme there and use that

And you don't think that will offend him? I did notice his top 3 competitors all use Wordpress. So email him and propose a new website vs a proposal for SEO or Ads? Tell him why I am not giving him a proposal for what he asked for?
by (6.9k points)
@chew446 In the past i have added it in my proposal if the website was shit as part of the retainer plan, so in his mind he doesnt pay more but in truth he is. Just tell him it is much easier for you to do better seo at a faster pace with WP and show top 3 is doing the same, so with this you are copying the way his competitor is behaving online. Be extremely courteous cuz old people get offended quickly

@darien Right, hahhahahaha. He still uses an aol email so I said yeah I am dealing with an older person too. Ok so give him a regular proposal for SEO Services and Google Ads and tell him at the top he will get better results if he migrates to WordPress.

GoDaddy is the worst site builder for SEO, ever made, in human history. I would rather pound on a stone tablet and hand it to Google than submit a GoDaddy site builder site to Search Console. I would rather submit a website that says "THIS IS A PBN LOL" in bold, blinking capital letters than a Godaddy site to GSC.

Hahahhahahahahaah. OMG, I am trying to figure out how to tell him without offending him.

@chew446 I mean, have you seen the site builder GUI? Has your client? You can't *do* anything with it. The Geocities site builder from the 90s literally gives you more control over your site than GoDaddy Site Builder. So does 2000's MySpace editor. I have had one client with a GD site in the last year and I basically said how impressed I was that their site looked that nice considering its limitations. Which was the truth. I would tell them that SEO depends on control over every part of a website, and GD just doesn't give you any. Which should get the point across without insulting their design. Maybe even send them a screenshot of the first GoDaddy UI compared to WP or something.

@repudiation No I never seen it but this makes me curious.

@chew446 I last had to use it like 6 months ago. It was bad. Like looking at Windows 3. 1 or something from 30 years ago. I think they may have overhauled their new version in 2020 and I can't speak on that one or its SEO viability. But I probably wouldn't trust it. If their site was made before 2020 it's probably using the old one and the old one is just unuseable. I'll see if I still have credentials to my client's site tomorrow morning and post a screenshot if I do

@repudiation Wow! Their site was made like 10 months ago and it is just so plain and basic too.
