Like many of you I have a few boxes right at the end of every article (share buttons, newsletter form, related posts, donation button, etc) I know it's bad for UX, but they serve a purpose. Or do they? Lately I've been wondering, is there any data about the effectiveness of footer boxes? Specially on mobile.

Well, I improved page speed and rendering by getting rid of social share buttons. People don't use them as much as they used to.
