Ight.  I joined this group just to get this one question answered.Ight. I joined this group just to get this one question answered. I 3D printed an Albert Einstein bust that has a secret button (Think Adam West Batman), I'm want to wire up a IFTTT button to switch on my Smart LED lights, what is y'all's suggestion for the best way to approach this? Is there already a product that can do this? If so, is it better to just make one my self? Thanks.

@bose403 that's awesome!

That is awesome i think the location for the button may be too small you may have to wire it with a simple button and run wire to something you could place within a base under what you currently have

Can it be mains powered? Do you have any other smart hubs etc?

@bose403 what smart lights are they?

@bose403 are you looking for dimming and colours or just on/off? IKEA do lamps and small switches that could be butchered and fitted in? Or if just on off there are relay options either RF or zigbee perhaps?

Are you handy with a soldering iron?

@bose403 ok you could use a smart life door contact. Pull it apart, break the glass reed switch and solder two bits wire to either end. Put the wires on to any button you like.

If you are looking at Philips Hue lights - there’s a hue button - it’s not too big - about 1. 5cm - 2cm

Its a cool little button that is battery powered and can have different light settings depending on the number of presses / length of press - I like it

@excrescence I was going to suggest the same with a wyze contact sensor. Wyze sense package and you get a camera with it.

Nodemcu or D1mini, cheap pushbutton, breadboard and a couple jumper wires. Flash with tasmota or esphome, set up your config and done!

A dot and an amazon button. Put the amazon button inside the bust (either make the head tilt back like batman or put it in the base)
