I have a few NFC tags that im looking to use. What creative/fun things are you all using them for? I have smartthings and shaptools, so i think i can use them to run actions in sharptools to control smartthings. I was thinking door unlock/disarm the alarm, maybe one kicks off bedtime when i drop it on the charger. what else do you all do with NFC tags?

I use them to lock and unlock things like my garden store and sheds (i. e. security on low value stuff). Also for my in-laws to easily operate our house alarm when we are on holiday and they are looking after our house (they don't do technology).

No, they don;t use phones. I've given them tags.

How do they activate said tags without a phone?

@hague They swipe tags on readers I’ve installed based around Arduino.

Put one on your phone mount in the car to turn things off and start music, connect to Bluetooth, etc

@bedrail Depends on make and settings. iPhones expose tag if you open wallet.
