So I have a ‘GE Enbrighten Z-Wave Plus Smart Fan Control switch’ that I currently use with wink, I along with many people don’t feel like paying the monthly fee! I only use wink for one fan that I have so can’t justify the new subscription. Anyone have other ideas?

Need to clear the security. With the GE dimmers, I believe you hit power on 10x or so. Check the installation instructions. Had to do it when I reset my hub.

It’s Zwave. You can pair it with anything. Wink shouldn’t be a factor in your decision.

”the option? ” ST •is• a hub. It speaks zigbee and zwave. It will pair with zwave devices. Sometimes they need assistance from a cloud “device type handler” but pretty much anything works with SmartThings.

You would need a SmartThings hub to connect the device. If this is all you are running it probably would be easiest to get a SmartThings hub.

you need to buy the Smart Things hub and install The hub in the app, then connect to it like you would with wink.

If it was previously linked to a hub, you can’t link it to another hub without resetting it. Zwave security

You need a SmartThings hub, not just the app. As others mentioned, this is a zwave device. Zwave is a radio- your WiFi does not “speak” zwave so you need a hub with a zwave radio.

Have a couple of fluorescent tube lights in my bathroom that I was hoping to use a smart switch to automate, but I got a tip that they don’t work well together and have even caused them to burnout quickly.

Smart light switch question. I bought 4 GE Enbrighten 2nd Gen switches around the first of the year from Amazon, since then I have read many comments about them failing within a year or two and I was second guessing my decision to install them.
