Theoretically I believe it’s possible if you use Node Red as the intermediary. There are flows for both Nest and SmartThings.

Help me Obi Wan. I've had the NST Manager for years, but when Google killed the Works with Nest stuff, it went down with the ship. No longer does it's mojo for me. I would like to know what you know. How does you NST Manager work, and mine does not?

@kym are you using the new or old ST app? I have this setup in the old one.
by (5.6k points)
@maziar52 the Classic (old) one. But, much to my dismay, Samsung announced that they will be pulling that app this year, forcing everyone to migrate to the new one. Still, NST is not doing what it used to for me, even on the classic app

@kym I set mine up a year or so ago. Not sure.

@maziar52 it was worth an ask Yeah mine was set up a few years ago. I loved it. Thank you for your time, man.

No it won't work anymore. Existing installs are fine, new ones won't work.

@hartzel This is correct. Mine setup prior and having no issues with my 5 Nests thermostats and 3 Nest Protects.

It works fine in a nest account bit not if you have moved to a new Google account.
by (2.2k points)
No, even if you haven't migrated, you cannot setup OAuth with a dev account needed for NST Manager if you haven't done already.

@hartzel I was trying to invite my renters to my nest account and ran into the issue of google not allowing it until I change over to “Works with Google Assistant (WWGA) enables the Google Assistant to control all your connected products. ” I think this is where the issue is. I am not going to do that WWGA because it will kill my ST Nest integration (I believe). Now I need to figure out if I can add NST Manager to my other ST hub (I have 3).
by (2.2k points)
Yeah DO NOT convert to WWGA, you will lost your NST Manager integration *permanently*! I wouldn't even attempt to add the other hubs, it's not worth the risk. As soon as you lose that OAuth you are done for.

Just keep in mind, you'll be funding a man who is one of the most hated people amongst ST community devs and God help you if YOU get on the wrong side of him as well.

Yes, using ST 'Alexa trigger' virtual switches with various rules attached to them to initiate Alexa routines that set temperature.
