I have multiple lutron Caseta in wall switches. Worked on wink without the Lutron hub. Anyone aware of any other systems that the caseta devices will work with without needing to have the Lutron caseta smart bridge in play as well?

Why not just get the bridge?

@homunculus I may end up doing that but their bridge doesn’t run other devices I have like lights and plugs. Would have to get another system still

@alduino true. But once you have the hub, you can integrate with pretty much anything

Get the bridge and then get another ha that does local control - works nice and quick with automations

The bridge is the ONLY solution for you. Wink was the only hub that had the Lutron radio built-in If you also want great automation, get a SmartThings hub as well. It’ll work with all of your zigbee and zwave devices. If you want 100% local control, you’ll need the Lutron PRO bridge and Hubitat hub.

@unclothe1851 have just sat on wink for years even though it hasn’t been reliable. This is just forcing me to switch. I’ll look into habitat. Is it easy to set up and configure like a wink, smartthings, or hue bridge? Or is it a lot more involved than those type systems?

I switched from smartthings to hubitat and it was the best decision I ever made. Speed of local is amazing. Love it love it

Staples Connect is the only hub besides Wink where I'm aware that Lutron licensed ClearConnect (the Caséta/RA2 communication protocol) to, and I'm guessing they didn't like the result, or at the very least they haven't done so again. The Caséta Smart Bridge Pro (or RA2 Main Repeater if you need that system) is your best bet for local integration with other systems, like Hubitat or Home Assistant. The non-Pro Bridge still has some cloud dependences or reverse-engineered trickery if local for third-party integrations, neither of which I'd rely on for indefinite operation if the growing size of the smart-hub graveyard (and Wink's 7-day notice) is any indication. :)
