Ring does have a very simple, yet effective transformer for turning low-voltage garden lights on and off. Output can be 12 VAC or 15 VAC @ up to 200 watts. I've installed a handful - they're dead easy, especially if you are just replacing an old, non-smart analog box.

@hyperostosis8688 does this thing have an internal circuit breaker?

Yes - it's super-easy to access (just flip the little access panel open to push the reset button).

Depends on what you want to do with the WiFi capabilities. Are you wanting to go beyond on and off via WiFi? You wanting to control every last single fixture? HUGE price difference between the two.

@kuhn59625 I just want to turn on and off the landscaping lights

@ghirlandaio56835 stick with a professional, pluggable transformer and use some sort of smart socket in that plug.

What kind of transformer are you considering. If it’s a professional one than u can just put a Zwave plug Inside the box.

Or if not professional than just an outdoor zwave plug or zwave or WiFi switch in house that turns it on or off

I guess what will be more helpful is share what landscaping transformer you are looking at with the group.

I use a 44W Intermatic transformer since I changed all lights to LEDs and a GE Z-Wave Plug-In Outdoor smart switch Module for my three landscape zones

Just get a wifi breaker for the circuit that powers it
