What about putting it up under the eve of the house?

@avitzur The deck is away from the house and has no cover.

I have these inside but not sure why you couldn’t put it under the eve on the back of the house

Megablast is probably your best bet. They are waterproof and sound great. also portable. Personally, I’d just take it in/out with me as opposed to leaving it outside all the time

Make sure that device isn't able to cause a security issue by being outside and able to be invoked.

@nestling good point. Had an Echo sitting outside all Christmas season to play music. Now wondering if that was a security risk. Don't have any smart doors (will be putting in a smart garage door) but I guess someone could have turned off away mode or messed with my thermostat, or ordered stuff.

Just get an Echo input and a waterproof speaker. Put Input in waterproof box with cord holes (several options on Amazon, ie Sockitbox). Any other option and you won't be able to hear the Echo.

I used my Input inside the lid of a Gemmy Christmas light controller and it could still pick me up well. Pretty sure my neighbors also told it to stop if I forgot to turn the music off after 9 PM or so.

Be prepared to treat it as throwaway. Set up a bird house-like awning or something for it to keep it out of the rain and sun. It'd need to be open so it can hear commands, but keep driving rain off it. But if you just want occasional use, get an Echo Tap. We have them and use them when we want audio and voice commands out on the patio. Works pretty well.
