Ok, so I made a post about Spotify not playing on the “Everywhere” music group on Echo devices last Friday. One member suggested that having a Fire TV in the group would keep Spotify from playing, so I removed that from the group first and I can confirm that was NOT the problem. Still not working, I deleted the entire group and did what he suggested next which is adding devices back to a new group one by one. My problem device is my Echo Show 2nd Gen with the 10” screen. As soon as I added this device I could no longer play Spotify Everywhere, as soon as I removed the Show from the group it worked again. I did this two more times just to confirm and had the same result every time. I even have the Fire TV in the living room in the group and it is working without issue. So I can confirm that Fire TV Sticks will work with Spotify and Multi Room Music. Now, what the heck is wrong with my Echo Show? It has the latest firmware and no updates are available. I will try a “reset to factory defaults”, not sure if that will work. I like having the screen in the kitchen, but this Show has always been slow with picking up our voice compared to the other Echo devices around the house and sometimes misses a voice command. Plus the touch screen is so slow compared to how fast you can touch it. Maybe I’ll give Amazon a call for a warranty replacement. ‍♂️
