Looking to purchase a Wifi thermostat. My forced air heat only system only has 2 wires to old Honeywell stat. Is there a model that does not require 24volts which I can still control remotely?

Ct-101 is battery operated (can also use a c-wire if you have one but not required) and z-wave (not wifi). Not sure if there are wifi models that don't require a c-wire but I'd guess there are.

Our Nest thermostat is connected to a gas fireplace that uses two wires. I simply added a 24vdc power adapter to power the Nest. Very simple and reliable.

Fast-stat makes devices to add wires. Look at the model 5000 if you need to control cooling as well. Or if you just need a common, the “common maker” model does that.

Ecobee can run on 2 wire if you get an adobe transformer. Message me if you want the details.
