Had some work done on my modem today. No service for an hour or so. Smartthings hub would not reconnect to the network. Had to manually reconnect. This common? Any way to make it reconnect automatically?

Should just reconnect automatically. It has happened to me before.

Generally unless your plugging your hub into your modern it won't affect the connection. Now if your talking about your router which is usually what your devices are connected to and you haven't changed your wifi name and password it should automatically connect. If you change the name and password your will have to reconnect it

I have problems often with the ST wifi hub after losing internet or power. Yet other times it just connects by itself. Go figure. Impossible to troubleshoot since all the admin is done with Plume that doesn’t work if you don’t have internet. Catch22!

Just out of curiosity, do you have security mode enabled?

I went and power cycled my nanobeams, switch, ap, and my hub and router. That seemed to do the trick! The internet company guy switched some stuff so I'm sure the routing all had to be reset.

I've done some searches to see if MyQ works with Smartthings and several sources says it does, but when I try to add a garage door, MyQ is not listed as one of the options.
