Has any of you from europe successfully integrated a fan into smartthings via a flush-mounted dimmer (e. g. aeotec nano dimmer)? if so, what requirements must the fan meet and do you have any tips for manufacturers? i read that devices with fixed defined speeds do not work, is that right?

You can’t control motors like fans with dimmer modules

And just to add weight to what @crabstick4604 said. Dont do it, its a legitimate fire hazard. Inductive loads WILL build heat in the dimmer and cause a fire. Locate an appropriate fan control for your geography if you want fan speed controls.

Exactly. smart switch dimmers can't even handle some light circuits. and NEVER a fan load

Thanks for your warnings! found this aeotec dimmer, which seems to be able to handle inductive loads up to 100W. but only works with specific fans.
