Anybody with Wemo dimmer switches get them connected to SmartThings hub? I have 4 and have them working through IFTTT, but don’t get the dimming capabilities.

Don’t think I’m trying to be a jerk but do yourself a favor and dump the WeMo devices. Take it from someone who knows better, they’re not worth the hassle.

@subtreasury70 I’ve been thinking about it. Any replacement recommendations?

@partition455 first and foremost stay away from WiFi. My recommendations would either be GE (what I use) or Inovelli.

Worst decision I made was buying a Wemo dimmer. What company provides Smartthings compatibility with their switches but not their dimmers? Aside from that, use a virtual dimmer switch in Smartthings and your Wemo dimmer will work until you dump it. I use Inovelli and have zero problems. Like the fact I can program the lighting on the switch for different uses. I have one flash yellow if the garage doors are open. Another flashes red when the alarm is set.

@candytuft thanks! For some reason I got use to creating basic virtual switches and forgot about virtual dimmers. Inovelli look great and I remember them being on sale for $25 a few weeks ago.

@candytuft How would you control the dimming with virtual dimmer switch and IFTTT? My though it use web ore and if virtual dimmer is between 0 - 10% then send the IFTTT webhook request for x% and so on. But would only have certain dimming percentages. Maybe I’m over thinking?

I went from wemo to kasa when I had it all wifi due to price of wemo. Had 0 issues when I got my ST hub and connected it all together.

Don’t need anything crazy expensive. Jumping over to Kasa switch, 3-way, and dimmers. Going to sell the 4 Wemo switches.
