I'm installing crown molding with leds around the ceiling in my bedroom. It's 18x14 (64 feet) so I need a cheaper alternative than hue lightstrips. Anybody got any recommendations for another company that makes decent strips? Preferably 6500K bright white. Pfa

I use Innr Flex. Good mid-range option and Hue/Zigbee compatible.

@pannonia1 works with the Hue hub, Echo plus, or even an £8 zigbee USB stick.

So. When it comes to LED tape you will notice there are RGB, RGBW, & RGBAW. Spectrawhite looks cheap, which is what you get from combining RGB to make white. The tape with the dedicated channels for AW. Amber and white. are the ones you want for architecture. I've done a substantial amount of work with LED tech. Lightguygroup. com

Grab a gledopto zigbee controller, hook that to some 24 volt strip of your choice and a 5A power supply. Others have recommended strip types. These controllers come in a few configurations depending on what kind of strip you want. They’re hue compatible. Note 1 or 2 ssid versions.

If you are running 64 feet, remember to put multiple power feeds.

Nexlux off of Amazon. Specially because of their adhesive back and customer support. Fyi, these are wifi and won't work with ST if you want something like that but there are a few DIY to do that too. Also, don't forget to power inject for 64 ft
