Question, I use SmartThings smart lighting app which runs local and I have inovelli red Z-Wave switch running on their custom device handler. Would you sacrifice your inovelli red switch capabilities and change device type to Z-Wave in SmartThings IDE to make them also run local for lighting automation?

Not a chance. The whole reason I bought the inovelli red was for its additional features. not something I would be willing to give up

Yes. I have one as "Z-Wave Switch Generic" and one as "Dimmer Switch. " Both are local, the switch reacts faster for me but I use the dimmer for a night automation.

Not if I really wanted to use the features. I have Homeseer switches that have additional features, but I’ll be damned if I have setup these features because I can’t remember the extra tap sequences. ‍♀️

Thats why I bought the red series for the features. But I’m torn between cloud and local control control. With local control, when the internet is down all my lighting automations still works and they reacts faster to automations with motion sensors.
