I am still using the classic app. Is there any reason to move to the new app? Benefits?

Eventually, the classic app will be deprecated. I use the classic, but have the new app installed as well.

I don't use the new app at all as I have no devices that require it, and I'm happy to stay that way until I do.

Lots of new device integrations, entrance delays for Smart Home Monitor, a more robust automation builder, more robust scenes builder, pairing by QR code scan, and more.

@sharla in the response section you can delay the siren and the notification

Honestly the new app is growing on me. I still require the old app for child devices (Inovelli switch notification management) but I just set up Life360 in the new app and it seems to be working really well.

Every time I open the new app I am finding new features and goodies. I'm slowly transitioning.

They've finally hit the point where most standard things will work. It's worth a try considering we know for a fact that classic will be retired at some point in the future. You can try new without uninstalling or reconfiguring anything. If you find something in your setup that doesn't work right for you in New, don't try to hack your way around it, report it as a bug and come back and see if it cot better in a couple months.

No, no reason to use the new app unless you like headaches and bugs.

I still use the classic 98% of the time. I only use the new for the logging/graphs.

I have the issue where I have to press the icon twice to turn off or turn in a device. Is it a classic app issue?

No. If you are a hardcore user of 3rd party Device Handlers and Smart Apps, you will be disappointed. None of my more specialized ones for Cameras, Ecobee Yricine Apps, Smartlocks and Garage Door apps from Rboy or others work properly. or at all in the new app.
