Question

I’m about to start the process of upgrading from a version two wired hub that is built into the older smartthings mesh Wi-Fi to a version three hub and new mesh system. Would it be best to leave mesh hub wired in and just turn off the Wi-Fi while transferring everything over or just just start from scratch?  Also can I transfer my actiontiles license to a new hub once I’ve upgraded?

You’re pretty much going to be starting from scratch. At least that’s what I experienced.

I replaced my router with Samsung Mesh Wi-Fi (includes Hub V3) a few months ago and it coexist perfectly with my Hub V2. I have one location and two hubs in IDE.

From a few things I've learned about how the V3 mesh pucks work, if you started with a V2 and didn't reinstall all your devices, if you shut off your V2 puck, you'll probably loose connectivity with everything. In a multi-puck single-location setup, added V3 pucks act as zigbee/zwave routers, forwarding traffic to/from the "main" location puck.
