I think it has something to do with the fact smartthings still shows the old devices under the old hub even though I had to remove each one and reinstall. Not that customer service told me to do this, it was by trial and error I figured it out. customer service only asks for screen shots. how do you do screen shots of a verbose Alexa response. And they call themselves customer service. I think it hAs something to do with getting ride of the old smartthings hub. Alexa worked fine until I installed the new hub

Did you remove the ST Alexa skill and re-add it?

Are you using the old app? Is Alexa showing as a smart app under the item you want to control?

Sounds like an alexa issue not a smartthings issue

I would check the IDE and make sure there’s no ghost devices and everything looks right. I would then remove the smartthings skill and Alexa app. Then re-install it.

@hokkaido, thanks I have removed and reinstalled them yesterday and nothing. I did manually remove some of the old devises I saw on Alexa that were not working as they were connected to the old hub, then did a discovery and they were found again, but did not find the new hub. Old hub was names My Home, new hub is named House, I had a place to select which hub and tried but still nothing. I need to get rid of the old hub as it seems to be blocking my search for devices

@adopted I do know, When you discover devices with Alexa it doesn’t refresh and remove old or non-existing devices, it just adds more. It’s a PIA! As you update and remove and add new devices, it can become unmanageable to sort out what is still there.

I have located the problem and now need a solution. According to Amazon and exactly what I was expecting. They say another hub is still connected. and needs to be factory reset. Problem is Smartthing required I return that hub (defective one) to them before they would ship a new one on warranty. I cant reset a hub that I had to return. Loosing all faith in Smartthings Customer Service. Any suggestions around that?
