Have a question, moving to SmartThings and receiving ST hub today. Know they are shutting Wink down tomorrow but really don’t want to subscribe because may be as difficult unsubscribing as getting a technical support response. So can I just reset all devices and add to ST as I find my way or is it best to unpair while I have Wink access? Thanks!

Should be able to reset and add without the wink hub. What devices though?

I just switched over all of my Lutron Caseta switches, Somfy blinds, and Sylvania bulbs. I reset on the devices. The transition was much easier than I had anticipated.

So you factory reset at the devices themselves and not within the wink app? Asking for a friend.

Correct. I had already unplugged my Wink because I ran out of Ethernet outlets.

I just did the same. I unpaired my Schlage door lock and reset to factory settings, and did the same for a Leaksmart water sensor. Lutron Caseta switches and Ecobee thermostat I just removed and added to ST. I found connecting everything to ST to be very simple.

I just did all this yesterday as i was a wink user. Started using the wink app to exclude devices then discovered the smart things app will exclude them for you as well. Just click on your hub, the vertical 3 dot “more options” icon in top right and then z-wave utilities and you can go through your house excluding everything. I found it easier than wink.

You can unpair in ST too, you don't have to do it in Wink even if that's where you originally paired them.

Tom, how do you unpair the device in ST if it hasn’t been paired to ST yet?

I believe zigbee devices need to simply be reset and then paired again but not 100% sure on that

I know that from Home Assistant (HA) you can integrate it with SmartThings (ST) and control all your ST devices from there but is there a way to do the opposite.meaning that through some integration have ST control all HA capable only devices and include them on ST automations, scenes and routines?

May I know if I have changed my broadband router, in order to change the Smartthings hub V3 device password, it seems that I have to hard reset the ST hub.
