Hello.  I'm after some advice.Hello. I'm after some advice. We booked to go to Dubai in may however flights are suspended and fco has advised against all travel indefinitely. Travel company wont issue a refund only giving out vouchers. Problem is none of us no where we will be with all that is going on at the moment. Surely we are entitled to a full refund?

Taking vouchers is a deal breaker for the airlines the more money that is refunded the higher chance they wont be flying no where as there wont be any money left. Vouchers are still atol covered. So if you can take the voucher however not ideal please try. I work in a guest house and we only refund where absoulte no other choice. We would rather a postpone ment or give a voucher.

If you insist on a refund, if they've cancelled your travel, they have to give it x

you just had to verbally request a refund in cash not vouchers. seems lots of companies are trying to wiggle out of this but IT IS YOUR LEGAL RIGHT xx

We were meant to fly ro sydney end of this month to see my brother and celebrate my dads 80th birthday. We were offered a credit note I asked them to e mail me a confirmation whilst still on phone to them that this wouldnt have a limited date to it. They obliged and the email states that it is valid for 4 seats from the original departure airport and is a return flight credit note so I am happy with that. If we all get refunds the companies are going to go bust . Since I have already been on receiving end of Monarch and then Thomas Cook I dont want to be on the receiving end if Emarites go to the wall. I hope you get the refund if that is what you want and hope you do get to take your holiday at a date that is suitable to you in the future.

I’m in the same position. Emirates are offering me £300 for flights that I paid £1500 for.

@glowworm that sounds more like a refund of the taxes. They are offering transfer of flights to new dates, so you would be better to take that. These are unprecedented times, normal rules don't necessarily apply.

It's crazy surely as this isn't the holiday I Booked for I am entitled to a refund. One the fligjts are not flying and two the hotel is offering very limited service

@lyns24774 the problem being that I can’t go in the next 12 months so a refund, especially now would be helpful.

@glowworm is it not 2 years, I think it can be longer than that?

Is it? When I spoke with them it was 12 months. 2 years would be better.
