Has anyone applied for a UK passport recently? How long did the process take? Thanks

Hi, sorry to jump on this post. I’m due to go away September . I need to renew passport as won’t have 6 months left on it when travel back. Does anyone know if I can do this online

@reason you will need the details on your old passport and then they will email you the address to send your old passport back, it’s really easy

I did mine just be4 this coronvirus it took about 4 weeks but I'm at the stage now for the interviews but can't go yet we should have gone to have them 23rd March but they cancelled and dnt no when we will have them now but untill we have interviews we can't get passports

My son renewed his on line including new photo and recieved it in just over a week.

I applied for mine online March 14th, still haven't received it. Looked online on the tracking link and it said it was still being processed.

Depends which process goes through. if online needs to be examined further, could take a while as only working with very limited staff in a couple of offices at the moment

I did mine in January, paper forms at post office. Received mine in 2 weeks once forms were sent off! X

Sent mine off online beginning of march they notified me they have received it same day, not heard anything since x

One of my sons did his just before lockdown it was back within 9 days , my other son did his 16 days ago and not back yet , they were both renewals and done online

My daughter applied for hers/her partner and 4 children beginning of January. omg what a palaver. the adults was a renewal whereas the kids were first passports. after paying through the nose for the pics and the check my daughter applied online. I was bewildered with the cock ups and finally received them all the middle of March after many phone calls and emails. so in her case it was approximately 10 weeks!

Done mine in December and it took 3 days!

We done our renewals in march got them back in 2 weeks no problems paid by sending card details no checking at post office. we did send them recorded though to be sure they got there.

Not long at all online. My mum and I both needed to renew ours in Feb for our  trip this Easter (ffs). She posted hers recorded delivery - hers was super old and that was the only option. Both of ours took just over a week I believe

I did a renewal online on the 1st April and it was processed on the 2nd and posted on the 3rd. I received it on the 5th

Applied beginning of March, all documents received 18. 03, they've been processing it ever since. :( first child passport online

Just a little update First thank you all for your messages and secondly during these tough times the passport office done good  only took 10 day from applying online and the new passport being delivered
