We are hoping to go to India and Nepal next year but not sure which month (October or November), as it is Diwali in November and so may be very busy and therefore we may struggle to see the sights, however we understand that its amazing. So, our question is has anyone been during this time and which would you recommend . October when its quiet(ish) or November when the festivals are happening? BTW it will be an escorted tour.

We went mid to end of October and stayed for 3 weeks. It was amazing! We did an escorted tour of Delhi, Agra, Jaipur and Ranthambore (tiger conservation)  and then we flew to Goa and Mumbai. Enjoy!

@thinkable would you mind sharing who you booked with?

@massarelli93 yes no problem. The company was India by car and driver. They came recommended by a friend and we found then really helpful, we were able to tailor the trip ourselves and they provided tour guides at all major attractions which was excellent.

We went in October and did the same as @thinkable. They were definitely gearing up for Diwali when we were there.

We were in Northern India during Diwali. No problems seeing the sights. We booked thro Saga couldn’t fault them.
