Can i ask, is this an American group? I am in UK and some things seem very different to the UK way of doing weight watchers. Lots of people ask what blue green or purple are and how the plans work. In the UK this info is all given in detail on the app when you jpim and the coach / leader explains it all at your first meeting. And things like cheat meals, we dont have those as you just use your points. Getting confused!

The WW plan and concept is the same here in the US and the UK. what you are seeing is people trying to find out the particulars of WW without paying for the membership (whether it’s the digital or workshop level) so they are asking paid members instead of putting out the $$$ to join themselves; also people are tweaking the plan to fit their own ideas/lifestyles; ie. ; planning “cheat days”; not counting certain things they choose not to count (lots of people aren’t counting stuff like creamer in their coffee; the points in blended fruit; etc) so you will see lots of deviation from the official plan on here. you do what’s best for you.

Ah ok, i see. Thanks:-)

@increasing464 You are welcome

@bowdlerize exactly. There are several apps out there that cost considerably less that people use to track points, but those apps don’t explain how the program works because their not official WW apps.
by (5.9k points)
@galvanoscope You’re right. I totally get the cost thing because I’m paying right along with the others who are true WW members; but; I don’t subscribe to the concept of trying to get the real deal without paying your fair share and then asking others for the correct info on the plans - just saying!

@bowdlerize I agree 100% with you. Thanks for saying it.
by (1.2k points)
@bowdlerize true. Should I feel bad for feeling that way too?
by (5.9k points)
@galvanoscope of course not - we’re all entitled to our opinions.

@thornhill55278 Just saying!

@thornhill55278 Breen look for it online. WW is international online.

It's the same on the US side, I think what you find is there are a lot of people who have not joined, and have not seen the app, asking the questions.
by (2k points)
Ah i see, that would explain it.

Some people just do online like me. And some people do cheat meals I guess. I don’t think it’s any different
by (2k points)
But online, its all explained in detsil re the 3 plans etc, but lots of people asking questions as if they havent seen all the info. And im still not sure what cheat meals are as in the UK ww we don't have that, you can eat any meals if its within points. I just wondered if UK and American weight watchers were different
by (360 points)
@increasing464 I mean honestly I didn’t know about all the plans. I was just put into something and I went with it Cheat meals go beyond within points. Like a meal to have whatever you want outside of the diet
by (2k points)
Wow really? So in US weight watchers ypu have to pay for the app but they dont give you any info on the 3 plans? That's awful! If you email weight watchers customer service im sure they will send it all to you. On the UK app, its all there for us to read.
by (160 points)
In canada the info is available for all the plans, basic info on the app and a whole detailed booklet online. I doubt it's any different for the states.
by (10.1k points)
@quesnay , I think if you're just online you can call any time and get assistance in detail on any questions you have.
by (4.2k points)
I'm in Canada. I would think that the food you consume in the UK would be the same as north ameruca so the plan would be the same. Dont stop, reach out to a support group for clarification. I do all of mine on my phone. Never been to a mtg.
by (1.2k points)
@increasing464 all of the info is there on the app and on the website in the US for digital users. It’s up to the person to read it‍♀️ The main difference seems to be that here digital only users get milestone awards in the mail, in the UK you don’t.
by (10.9k points)
@increasing464 they certainly give you all the information on all 3 plans. Do people read it? No, not everyone. Even if they don’t read it at the beginning it available on the app at anytime.
by (10.9k points)
Oh and “cheat” meals? Aren’t necessary if you do the program right you can eat anything you want while staying on plan. That’s an individual choice not a WW thing.
by (2.8k points)
@increasing464 yes they gave us info on all the plans in the US. Some people either don’t read their email or don’t go to meetings. All information for all 3 plans is everywhere. And cheat meals are a personal preference thing. That is not a WW thing.

There are lots of people in this group who are not WW members, some just interested, some doing their own thing. I have been using the plan before the 3 colored plans came out. I suggest doing some reading on WW philosophy, and watching youtube videos. As a digital only person, they don't give you much direction about the system(plan). Because of this many people are not correctly informed about how the plans work, and often get details wrong because of misinformation.

That's why i think the Uk and US app's may be different. I have app and go to class but the new plans were released a few days before my class. I read very detailed descriptions and guides of all 3 plans, including what points i would have on each, all the 0sp foods etc. So by the time i attended class i already had all that info. Its a shame if the US ww is charging comparable monthly fees to UK but not giving full infp to members. People should email ww and ask for full details. You are paying for it, after all!

We get full info here in the US too. There are just some people who follow this group that are not members. The program is given and explained when you join.
by (120 points)
The website also has a lot of information and downloads which I find very helpful!
by (5.9k points)
@increasing464 We are getting the full and entire information about the new plans. it’s what individuals are choosing to do with that information that is causing all of the discrepancies that you see on the Facebook group sites. Wright Watchers is holding up to what they advertised.

I'm in US and a member of WW. We got all that info too except I think there's lots of people on here who aren't members and are trying to do it alone. I don't respond to most questions because they can google any info they need.

I am digital only and when I joined, I received nothing--no paperwork, no instructions as to how WW works, or not even a suggestion that there was an app out there to use--much less how to use it or how to decipher it. How many of you on WW know how to even find the FAQs? WW is definitely NOT user-friendly. Many on these WW feeds are older women who aren't tech savvy and are struggling to figure out how and where to even find the info, as well as to how the app works-- and many of them are confused so they ask questions. It doesn't mean that they are not members of WW like many assume. Luckily, I've used a computer all my life so I had very little trouble. This is a support feed for anyone wanting to lose weight or become healthier, not just WW members. If you prefer to not answer people who you "think" aren't members, then just scroll on by. You're not giving support by being negative.
by (2k points)
Wow. In not being negative, i just wondered if the US plan was different as it sounded so different to my app and plan, just asking a question really.
by (9.6k points)
@increasing464 I don't think you were being negative at all---just some of the replies you were getting to a perfectly good post without really answering your question seemed to be. In case you don't know, there are a few UK only feeds on here that you can find by searching WW UK. I follow one of them and get some really great info there. I'm amazed at the different foods we have compared to what others outside the US have available. Have a great day!

If you are digital, the chat feature on the app is available to anyone who has questions. I have paid for WW online for quite awhile, but finally got serious last May. Since I didn't go to a physical meeting I had to ask for the charms to be sent to me.

Hello from Canada, I’m a life time member and I still use the old way of doing WW. I started when it was point plus and than we switched to smart points. Lol.
The Weight Watchers Group is where you can always find questions, answers, advice, reviews & recommendations from other community members about recipes, meal ideas, and tips for the Weight Watchers diet.
