I weighed myself yday and I had put on weight making me 9stone 6. 4lb. Today I weighed again out of curiosity and was bang on 9stone 5lb. Can you lose 1. 4lb in a day?! I'm confused lol.

Yes! I weigh myself everyday, ive lost 2lbs in a day twice

Yes, depends on intake and outtake. I only weigh first thing in the morning. Before I eat or drink, after bathroom

Not sure but figure it’s reasonable to assume that you can. We all have days we do better with liquid. And then there is the other issue of whether you had BM. Those make a difference.

Yeah I'm in Scotland and we measure using stones and pounds I find it easier. 1 stone is 14 pounds like the above says :)

Sodium rich foods can cause you to retain water and yes a pound and a half is possible

Cpuld be bloat from some kind of water retaining or from having to use the restroom.

@expanse I'm on new pain relief medication which is a sodium causing water retention. Havent taken any since friday so assume that could be why I've lost :)

Absolutely! It can swing either way. My lightest point of day is when I get home after work, before dinner, but I log my weekly weight when I wake up every Friday morning. I may be half a pound heavier in the morning but it’s still not my heaviest time in the day. That’s why you need consistency with weigh-ins.

@hager Gaffney true! I usually weigh myself on a sat morning before I've ate or drank anything right before I get in the shower

This is why I try to only weigh myself once a week (it’s hard to resist sometimes! ) because if I’ve gained a couple one day to the next it can be discouraging, even if I know it’s natural to fluctuate up to a couple pounds throughout the day. I find that it’s more motivational for me to see an overall downward trend.
