I have a silly question, just curious, how do members that only do WW on line, keep accountable for what they say they weigh ? Do people cheat, and enter whatever they want? I go faithfully to weekly meetings and get weighed in. I am lifetime for over a year, so it's not an issue, but just wondering .
How do WW members keep accountable for what they say they weigh ?

I do only online. I don’t cheat and write whatever I want lol that would be silly if I cheat I cheat I usually don’t track anything on those days or I try to track it if it’s just one thing I ate not great. I am Very accountable and weigh myself every week and I even put in my weight gains etc I’ve lost over 105 lbs

Why would anyone do that?

You step on the scale on your weigh in day and enter the weight that it says. Why would anyone put a false weight in? Then they wouldn't be able to monitor their progress. There is certainly no benefit to putting in false weights.

I only use the app, but I truly enter the weight my scale says even if it's up for that week. If somebody is entering a different weight, they are only cheating themselves.

Seems dumb to cheat? Why would you pay money to lie about your weight to strangers?

I'm sure ppl do not list the correct amount. Since I weigh every morning, I own it. Good or bad

If they're not being honest they only hurt themselves, not for me to judge. Many people can't afford the fees for meetings. Don't forget that, something is better than nothing.

I only do online and input whatever the scale says. What’s the point in lying to yourself?

It would be stupid to lie since the whole point is to lose weight.

Theres really no point to lying about your weight or weight loss. no one sees the number but you

If people are going to eat what they want and lie online, then so be it. The bottom line is they are only going to get out of the program what they put into it. All the lying in the world isn't going to get them into a size 10.

Some days are harder than others but in the end I'm paying for a membership so if I lied on weigh in I'd just be cheating myself. I've gone days without tracking too and go back and fill in the blanks to keep myself accountable

You get trinkets at different milestones but nothing worth lying over. Besides, you’d only be cheating yourself.

I do just the online. what would be the purpose on entering a false weight?

by (6.6k points)
Yes sometimes I cheat. not on weight. On points over. Always track. Ultimately I'M the one that gets cheated.

It’s all a matter of ethics. Do you cheat yourself or not? I weigh daily and record on Tuesday. I weigh daily because I put that weight into the treadmill for calories burned. I really don’t care what it is. The only one I care about is Tuesday

Well that's one of the reasons you can only make 'free'lifetime member when you go to meetings. you must lose at least 5# ? at meetings to get free lifetime tools.

I don't know why you would think just because some people only do on line weight watchers that they would automatically cheat. I weigh myself on the same scale every morning and I log it.

I have never thought about lying about my weigh ins. I'm no where close to lifetime and I didn't even know I got charms till recently so the only person I would be lying to would be myself. I do that enough without my weigh ins being added to it! LOL

You’re really only cheating yourself if you’re not truthful. I do online and don’t fudge a thing and Ive been successful, down 30 lbs so far. I have good weeks and bad weeks but I track all the same and move onZ

Don’t know about others, but I am always truthful! You are only hurting yourself if not and really who sees your weight but you and whoever calculates the + and - each week!

Why cheat? Cheat yourself out of that monthly payment. To become lifetime, even if you are digital only, you have to lose your last few pounds before goal while attending meetings. So you can’t be a lifetime member as digital only. At some point, you’re required to attend meetings and complete the 6 week maintenance period.

I don’t know how the world does it but I have a scale , at home same as ww . I weigh once a week and I put the exact weight I mean if I say I’m skinner people going to notice lol

I put down what I weigh. If you are serious about losing, I don’t think a person would lie about something like that.

Why would someone want to cheat themselves? I’m only accountable to myself. It works for me. I count everything that goes in my mouth. I get to pick which day I weigh in. I like that. I don’t understand the cheating part. Why would someone want to?

I was in counseling once and admitted to the therapist I had lied about something. He said people lied to him all the time and they only hurt themselves when they do so. He said it's only when we're honest with him and ourselves that he can help. Having said that, I will say I don't cheat. I track everything and I'm honest about the scales. This program can't help me, it can't work for me if I cheat. I do it all online and it's working. Some people need to go to meetings for accountability and support.

If you werent honest about it why would you pay 20 bucks a month to be in the program? I am always honest. I take one day a week to eat what I want and then track diligently the rest of the time. I dont have time for meetings I work ten hour days. Been on ww since October 2018 and have lost 65 lbs. It is something I am doing for myself to be healthy and a good example for my patients. If I lied about my weight it would not get me very far!

I couldn’t go to a meeting even if I wanted to. I work 12 hours a day and yes it would be so easy to cheat but why bother doing it and actually it’s tougher to be on the just digital in my opinion because of that

Why lie?
+4 votes

Well if you lie you are only lying to yourself. You have no benefit lying on line. Some people feel more accountable going to meetings or the go for the support. Some dont feel comfortable going in front of strangers.
