Anyone else loving salad wedges? A cold wedge of iceberg lettuce topped with lite blue cheese dressing, bacon crumbles, diced tomato and chives. Perfect as a side dish for any meal or as a lunch!

I just have to say, looks good but iceburg lettuce has very little nutritional value.
by (2.3k points)
@yellowhammer9 Yes it's a good choice just thought I'd throw the value out there.

@yellowhammer9 and zero points!

Actually This food is low in Sodium, and very low in Saturated Fat and Cholesterol. It is also a good source of Thiamin, Vitamin B6, Iron and Potassium, and a very good source of Dietary Fiber, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin K, Folate and Manganese. sounds like a winner to me

@refulgent everyone knows. Maybe, and I'm just throwing this out there, just maybe they like a wedge salad. In a wedge.
by (2.3k points)
@rimola That doesn't sound like iceburg lettuce.
by (2.3k points)
WW3 over lettuce. sorry for bringing it up!
by (550 points)
Not trying to upset you. just wanted to let you know . I used to think the same about both lettuce and watermelon. on weight watchers I research my food now. sorry
by (2.1k points)
@refulgent that’s the point! These are people trying to lose weight! Iceberg lettuce is fine. Everyone can always find a better choice. Because it’s not the BEST choice doesn’t mean it’s a BAD choice. Same with watermelon. When eaten instead of cake, it’s an excellent choice. And you’re wrong. These foods are not completely devoid of value anymore than water is. Are there foods that are not nutritionally dense? Yes. Does it make this a BAD CHOICE? No. And show me a wedge salad made from kale.
by (2.3k points)
@nonconformance302 never said it was a bad choice. Never meant to mean you shouldn't eat it. What I failed to say was they're are more nutritional varieties of LETTUCE out there. It was a sinple statement. WW nember since 2014.

Why not chop it up since looks difficult to eat as a wedge
by (8.4k points)
@yellowhammer9 It does look appetizing served as a wedge though
by (2.1k points)
@thyself it's a wedge salad. That's literally the point. You can chop it yourself. It's like asking someone to precut your steak because it looks difficult to eat whole.
by (8.4k points)
What is your point? I know it’s a wedge salad so why be rude about who is eating it as a wedge or chopping it and who would expect a person to precut their steak.
by (2.1k points)
@thyself you said it looks difficult to eat You don't pick up the whole wedge and eat it. Like a steak, one would cut it first. This is how it's served.  Why be critical of someone else's meal? That's the point here. Everyone on these things thinks they're a food critic.
