Hey guys, I have a question. I'm breastfeeding and the app gives me 29 points a day, with 32 in reserve for the week. Is that the appropriate amount? I feel hungry ALL THE TIME. Am I just not eating the right stuff?  I don't want to decrease my supply. Edit: I'm on purple

Eat more fruit all day! I’m not breastfeeding haha but eating clementines and bananas all day really helps me!

Forget about your weight for a while, you are doing what's more important

I would double check how much protein and water just make sire you're getting enough. Are you using the 0 point food as fillers, like snacks and loaded in meals?

What plan are you on? Weekly points are in multiples of 7. It should be either 35 or 28 etc.

@untruthful52511 there are rollovers added

@supporting okay. I was confused.  I missed the fact that you were breastfeeding. In the settings there is a place to say that. Is it ticked off?
by (780 points)
@supporting it’s under “Food Settings”. If you click that you are nursing you get a lot of extra daily points. If you click that you are not exclusively breastfeeding you get a smaller amount of extra points. Ps: congratulations on the baby.

@sulfur7065 on purple there are a lot of zero point foods you should be using your daily points but also filling out your choices with the zero point foods. Ie: brown rice, chicken breast, veggies. The only thing you would have to count would be any oil you used to cook or if you put butter on the veggies.
by (4.7k points)
@sulfur7065 if you do not use a lot of the zero point foods added to purple, such as brown rice, pasta, quinoa as part of your daily intake you may want to look at switching to blue or green with more points to allocate to the foods you actually eat.

I hear that people are hungry on purple and I don't get it. I'm on purple and eat chicken, turkey, brown rice, quinoa, eggs and pasta a lot and they are all zero points. Add some veggies and whatever sauce. You should have plenty of points to never be hungry.

@arrow on purple, whole wheat pasta is zero points.

As a person who has breastfed and has eaten incorrectly, my recommendation would be to focus on the zero point foods (eggs, chicken, oatmeal, brown rice). especially the whole grains. Those will help your supply and keep you feeling full. Because you do have so many points on purple, you can also have some indulgences! But please, don’t be like me (who ate Cheetos like it was her job). I made some very bad habits while breastfeeding that I’m paying for now!

@sulfur7065 make sure you drink LOTS of water! The one great thing about doing WW while breastfeeding is that so many calories are going directly to baby, it was the most successful I have ever been with weight loss. But you need to make sure you are choosing quality nutrition with your available points, for you and for baby. You don’t want to see your supply diminish. Good Luck! And if you have bad days just keep in mind that spending your energy with baby is the most important and those baby snuggles only last a short time, so don’t beat yourself up if things don’t go perfectly with the weight loss.

You could literally eat zeros all day on purple. if you don't eat any of the 300 zero foods, switch plans

Salmon, oatmeal, quinoa, almonds. these r natural appetite suppressants. Also become self aware of when you feel hungry. Make sure your not eating from boredom or stress.

Eat more protein and veggies for breakfast and lunch and you won’t be hungry or hangry

I was hungry all the time while breastfeeding too. Drink lots of water and have some 0 point foods when hunger kicks in. Oats and flax are great for boosting supply and keeping you fuller longer.

Also are you hydrated enough? You should be drinking tons of water. You need more than usual when breastfeeding.

I did WW while breastfeeding last year. This was before all the color plans. If I didn’t make sure to purchase and plan to eat zero point foods and eat them all the time, I would be hungry so I learned how to work the plan realllll fast. Then I would use the rest of my points on nutrient dense foods higher in healthy fat like nuts, peanut butter, string cheese, hummus, and avocados. It worked for me. But honestly, keeping your milk up is so important for you and baby so don’t let yourself by hungry. Eat all the zero point foods and plan your meals around all zero point foods and then count points for nutrient dense high protein snacks. Congrats on your baby! I’ve also heard the phrase nine months on nine months off. It took you a while to gain that weight, it’ll probably take a little while for it to come off. Be patient with yourself .

@sulfur7065 good luck for sure. Loosing weight after having a baby is a special sort of challenge all on its own. I’m 29 weeks pregnant right now and not looking forward to loosing the weight I’ve gained after baby comes lol

If you are hungry, EAT! You are feeding your little one too. If you don’t eat enough your supply will definitely tank. Protein and grains will help your supply. Also, lots of water! Congratulations on your lo! I’m expecting in March and I am planning on getting back on plan after delivery. I actually found when I am eating a healthy well balanced diet my supply was better. ❤️ enjoy those newborn cuddles

Add 24 oz of milk & 4 Tbs peanut butter daily without counting it. Eat lots of 0 point foods. There are tons of 0 point foods that are filling: Beans, lentils, corn, chicken breast, bananas, etc.

I’m on blue, breastfeeding and have 52 points to use daily. Without breastfeeding I’m around 25-30 usually.

I'm breastfeeding on blue and get 28 daily and 35 weekly

I was on what’s now the blue plan while I was BFing. I got 43 dailies, which seemed like a lot. Once I stopped BFing it dropped to 23, and that was really hard to adjust to. Since you’re on purple, you’ll get fewer daily points because there’s more ZPFs so I’m guessing 29 is probably right for BFing.

Ww advises you don’t do we while pregnant. Reach out directly to the company
by (2.4k points)
@beverleybeverlie she’s breastfeeding, not pregnant.
by (1.1k points)
@adkinson okay Amanda. I called the company for my friend and they literally told me to wait until she was completely done breastfeeding and all
by (2.4k points)
@beverleybeverlie ah, gotcha.

Also I understand this page is for help but a question like that she should reach out to WW!

I’m on blue and get 41 points. I was worried about decreasing my supply because I lost a lot of weight fast. Just make sure you are still eating the good fats

If you’re a sugar addict - your body revolts in the first 2 weeks by making you hungry all the time.
