I got a “ehhh.  why are you here?I got a “ehhh. why are you here? ” at a meeting this week. I went to an odd day and time I never show up at due to snow and sick kids this week. 15 plus years as a lifetime member. 3 babies, and yes, I am here. I have been there and I still work on it every day. I track, and I show up for at least 2 meetings a month and weigh in. Because I have to. I also spend hours a week in the gym. (Because I LOVE it) that doesn’t mean I can eat whatever I want. We are all on the same journey, but in different phases. I have had to go back and pay because I lost my why and got off course, or because I was getting back after baby. 15 plus years I am here because I show up. We are all in this together. Don’t judge. We are here to get us all to years at lifetime.
I got a “ehhh. why are you here?

You are an inspiration and probably even more so, a life lesson for us all. We won’t ever be “done” this program. We won’t ever be able to eat the way we did before. We will always have to work the program to be successful long term. I think many of us don’t realize that and that’s why we are in what I call the weight watcher roller coaster. Up and down and up again. Sorry someone made you feel unwelcome. To me, you are the life lesson.

Wow! That's real dedication. There is an elderly gentleman at my group who, after being Lifetime for 4 years, comes to our weekly meetings whenever he's not away. He feels it's necessary for him. And he inspires the rest of us.

Wow. sorry to hear you got that response. I love seeing the lifetime members come in and hear that if they don’t continue to show up. be accountable and step on the scale the weight would go right back on. I know that is exactly what happened to me. I look forward to getting back to goal. and this time. I will continue to check in! I hope someday I can offer support to someone.

So rude. Back handed compliment maybe. It's a support group! Not just a place to sell things.

I’ve made “goal” three times over the last 50 years. this most recent time was almost four years ago. and yes, I continue to go to a meeting every week because I have finally learned the journey is never over! Those weekly meetings keep me focused and in range. but it is not easy!

I’m with you. I’ve been lifetime since 1996 & still go every week. Like you, I have to. & need to pay every once in a while! However, my meetings celebrate the life members-there are many of us—& we’ve all been there for years. It’s wonderful! & WW is truly a lifetime plan.

I'm here because I live in fear of my weight coming back. I gained 10 pounds and it through me into depression. I love reading recipes, success stories, and knowing that there are others who share my same struggle. Weight Watchers isn't about the size of our bodies. It's about helping and changing our mindsets.

I can certainly relate to this post. Sometimes I feel out of place being a lifetimer and showing up to meetings every week. However I will not quit. This is a lifestyle for me. Much like going to Church on Sundays. Thanks for sharing. And best of luck to you on your successful journey

@corsetti16 in my meetings the coach motivates us with the presence and achievements of the gold members, the people like you who lost weights and kept them away successfully. The Gold members are very important because they tell as their struggles and tricks to keep on track. I am working to loose my last 14 ( lost 40 already) pounds so I can become Gold member.

Can you become lifetime if you only doing online? I’m thinking no.
by (3.3k points)
@auria272 Wittmeier no but if you start attending meetings when you have 5 lbs to lose you can attain lifetime membership. When You Reach lifetime status and do not go more than 2 over your goal you no longer have to pay the monthly fee. but you do have to go and check in at a meeting but you do have to go and check in at a meeting once a month

I attained lifetime status back in the 70s. Then over a few years I gained a hundred pounds. Stayed over 200 for the better part of 25 or more years. Then I started doing Weight Watchers with just the app. (And a small family group. )When I got close to my goal I started going to the meetings. I feel that having to check in once a month to keep my free status will help me to stay at to stay at my goal, which I have never been able to do the couple times I got down to my goal I turned around and gained it all back. I just can't do that again

I have been lifetime under goal two years. I have never been confronted but in my head I have the answer. I have serious issues with food. I need ww to eat healthy and keep my weight down. Without it I would have gained it all back already.

That makes me sad. Hopefully, they’re just socially awkward for whatever reason and meant it as a compliment. ‍♀️

I think maybe those that say that are paying you a backhanded compliment. They don’t realize it takes work for all of us. They aren’t being mean just thoughtless

First let me say this I'd never ask someone why they were at a meeting but when I had first started back a few years ago I DID think hmm. why is she is. UNTIL one meeting during the discussion the leader asked how many were lifetime. I swear 1/3 of the group raised their hand. Some faithfully go every week and some just once a month but THAT was my AHA moment.
